Anyone you know could be a Traveler. That spouse who’s been acting differently since surviving a seemingly fatal accident… the relative who died on the operating table only to suddenly awaken in front of stunned and baffled physicians… or a child whose parents thought he had died in a coma, grateful to have him back again despite the homicidal change in his personality…
These are the DEAD… stealing the lives of innocent humans in order to live again. They are organized. They are well funded by misguided humans, hoping to join their dark legions. And they have been enacting their plan for centuries. So how can they be stopped? Our only hope is PURUSHA VENTURES, a covert organization dedicated to fighting these monsters. But they’re going to need a lot of help…
… and that’s where the story of ETHE(r)eal begins.
In a terrifying adventure with a tragic love story at the core, BODIE TAYLOR, a linguistics professor in Portland, Oregon (think a cooler, African-American version of Robert Langdon from THE DA VINCI CODE), gets drawn into this mysterious and violent world of the supernatural when his wife dies under frightening circumstances. Only…is she really dead? Or has she become one of humankind’s greatest enemies? And if so, how can Bodie save her from a fate worse than death?
Bodie’s romantic journey to rescue his wife from beyond the grave is at the heart of our series, as is his continuing battle against the dark forces threatening to overwhelm us all.
A supernatural/action series designed for multiple media platforms, ETHE(r)eal began life as a TV pilot script. It has since expanded into a web comic book (launching Fall 2009), a Twitter novella in which fans can follow an original storyline running concurrently to series’ main action, and an Internet series (webisodes launching Spring 2010). A video game is also in development.
